Early-stage storage screening

Solar BESS screening calculator

Estimate a starting nominal energy capacity from critical load, backup time, usable depth of discharge and system efficiency. Use the result to prepare an RFQ, not as a final engineering design.

Enter four screening inputs

Use measured values where available. The formula is shown beside the result so the estimate remains understandable and reviewable.

Five RFQ details still required

  1. 01

    Buyer type

Distributor, installer, agent, EPC or project buyer

  2. 02

    Country

Project country and the responsible network-operator area

  3. 03

    Product

Storage application plus requested module, inverter, battery or component scope

  4. 04

    Quantity

Required kW and kWh, container count or repeat purchasing forecast

  5. 05

    Destination port

Named destination port and final delivery city

What final engineering must review

  • Measured load profile, peak demand, motor or transformer starting current and critical-load definition
  • Required autonomy, permitted outages, operating mode and expected charge source
  • Ambient temperature, altitude, ventilation, enclosure, fire-safety and local code requirements
  • Battery, PCS or inverter, EMS, protection, transformer and network-operator compatibility
  • Degradation, augmentation, warranty, commissioning, service and end-of-life responsibilities

Final specification, price, availability, lead time, warranty, certification scope and payment terms are confirmed only through Frank or Director review and the formal offer and PI path.

BESS screening questions

Is the calculated capacity a final BESS design?

No. It is a transparent screening estimate based only on critical load, backup time, usable depth of discharge and system efficiency. A qualified engineer must review the measured load profile, equipment, protection, local code and network requirements.

Why does the tool not show a battery price?

A public fixed price would ignore chemistry, cell and rack configuration, PCS, EMS, fire protection, certification, warranty, service, destination and commercial terms. Frank or the Director reviews the exact RFQ before a formal offer and PI.

Does the result prove inverter or grid compatibility?

No. Compatibility depends on the selected equipment, controls, protection, voltage, network operator and project documents. The result is not a product approval, grid approval, warranty or performance guarantee.

What information should accompany a storage RFQ?

Send buyer type, country, product scope, quantity in kW and kWh, destination port, critical-load profile, desired autonomy, operating mode and target schedule.
