How to Verify Solar Module Certificates
Match the document number, offered model, holder, legal manufacturer, production site, edition, status, annex and destination requirement before relying on a certificate claim.
Short answer
A PDF or logo alone is not proof. Verify the document number through the issuer, scheme or official programme when a public database exists, then match its product, legal entities, factory, standard edition, status, annex, controlled construction and destination scope to the exact offer.
Know Which Document You Have
These records answer different questions. Treating them as interchangeable creates false confidence.
Standard
Defines requirements or test methods, such as an IEC publication.
A standard number on a page is not a certificate. Identify the edition and the exact document that claims conformity.
Test report
Records tests performed on identified samples under a stated method and scope.
Match the tested model, construction, sample, laboratory, report number, issue date, deviations and full report status.
Certificate
Records conformity under a named scheme for an identified holder and product scope.
Verify the issuer, certificate number, holder, models, factory or surveillance scope, annex, limitations and current status.
Declaration, mark or listing
May represent a manufacturer declaration, authorised mark or market-program listing.
Identify who made the declaration or listing, the legal basis, product scope, responsible entities and official verification route.
Six Verification Steps
Use the same identity chain from the first offer through the final order documents.
- 01
Freeze the offer
Record the exact model, nameplate, construction, legal seller, legal manufacturer, production site, quantity and destination.
- 02
Identify the document type
Separate a standard, test report, certificate, declaration, mark and market listing before deciding what it proves.
- 03
Verify the issuer record
Search the certificate or file number in the issuer, scheme or official programme database when a public verification route exists.
- 04
Match the identity chain
Compare holder, legal manufacturer, production site, model family, nameplate and controlled construction with the offer.
- 05
Read status and limits
Check edition, issue date, current status, annex, conditions, exclusions, surveillance scope and destination-specific requirements.
- 06
Reference the order
Keep the accepted model and document set in the dated quote, PI or referenced order files instead of relying on a website logo.
What Common References Actually Show
A standard or mark has a defined purpose. It does not prove every other commercial, lifetime or market claim.
IEC 61215 design qualification
The standard covers design qualification and type approval. IEC states that test results are not a quantitative prediction of module lifetime.
IEC 61730 safety construction
The standard addresses electrical and mechanical safety construction. IEC notes that it does not encompass every national or regional code.
CE marking
CE marking is a manufacturer declaration under applicable EU rules. The European Commission states that it is not an approval by the EU or another authority.
Market schemes and listings
MCS, UL and other market programmes have their own scope and verification routes. A listing for one model, holder or market does not transfer to another offer.
Certificate Red Flags
Pause the commercial review when the evidence cannot be connected to the exact offered order.
- 1A logo or cropped screenshot without a document number
- 2A related model name that does not match the offered nameplate
- 3A holder, legal manufacturer or production site missing from the identity chain
- 4An expired, withdrawn, suspended or superseded record presented without status context
- 5A summary page used in place of the annex, full report or destination requirement
Tier-1 OEM Boundary
JUSTSOLAR has Tier-1 OEM production experience protected by NDA. We do not publish customer or supplier names.
OEM experience and another company's listing, certificate or test report do not transfer to JUSTSOLAR or a new order. The exact offered model, factory and document scope require their own verification.
Request a Model-Specific Review
Send five buying details plus any tender, grid, installer or market document already specified. Frank or Director confirms applicable evidence before any formal recommendation, quote or PI.
Start Qualified RFQBuyer type
Installer, distributor, agent, EPC, project owner or other qualified buyer.
Country
Destination country and any known market, grid, tender or installer requirement.
Product
Exact module, OEM or private-label requirement, small module, cell or selected component.
Quantity
Containers, MW, pieces, project quantity or expected purchasing cycle.
Destination port
Exact port, city or named delivery place for the commercial review.
Buyer Questions
Can one certificate be reused across JUSTSOLAR models?
Not automatically. Match the exact offered model, construction, certificate holder, legal manufacturer, production site, standard edition, certificate or report status, annex and destination requirement. One related model or factory does not prove another product is covered.
Does an IEC standard number prove that a module is certified?
No. A standard defines requirements or methods. Ask for the applicable certificate or test report, then verify its number, issuer, scope, status and identity chain against the offered product.
What should I send for a model-specific document review?
Send buyer type, country, exact product, quantity or MW or containers, and destination port or named place. Add any tender, grid or market document already specified. Frank or Director confirms applicable evidence before any formal recommendation, quote or PI.
