Thailand buyers need TISI/utility acceptance, BOI/EEC project context, and ACFTA Form E paperwork before container release. We prepare the buying file an EPC, distributor, or project owner needs before internal approval: landed-cost estimate, technical documents, compliance path, lead time, and container loading.
Thailand Solar Import FAQ
What certifications are needed for solar panels in Thailand?▼
IEC 61215 + IEC 61730 required (we provide). TIS (Thai Industrial Standards) 2606 for retail/distributed, aligned with IEC. ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission) registration for grid interconnection. For BOI-promoted industrial rooftop projects: BOI certification + tax incentives application. JUSTSOLAR provides full cert bundle + TIS pathway assistance.
What are BOI incentives for solar in Thailand?▼
Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) promotes industrial rooftop solar with: (a) Corporate income tax exemption 3-8 years, (b) Machinery import duty waiver, (c) Accelerated depreciation. Eligible activities include self-consumption rooftop in EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor), industrial estates, and certain SEZ locations. For EPCs + factory owners, BOI application is very valuable — typical 20-30% uplift on project NPV.
What's the import cost structure for Thailand?▼
Solar modules: 0-5% MFN import duty. ACFTA (ASEAN-China FTA) with Form E reduces to 0%. VAT: 7%. For BOI-promoted projects, machinery duty can be fully waived. Customs clearance at Laem Chabang typically 2-4 days for compliant documentation. JUSTSOLAR provides Form E free for all Thailand shipments.
Can JUSTSOLAR supply under PEA / MEA programs or IPS?▼
Yes. PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) and MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) solar rooftop programs accept IEC-compliant modules. For IPS (Independent Power Supply) small utility projects and VSPP (Very Small Power Producer, under 10 MW), JUSTSOLAR qualifies directly. For utility-scale under EGAT tenders: bankability requirements may apply.
What's the C&I rooftop market situation in Thailand?▼
Very strong. Thailand has large industrial base (auto, electronics, petrochemical) with significant rooftop capacity and rising grid tariffs (TOU rates $0.10-0.15/kWh during peak). Self-consumption rooftop + BOI incentives = 5-7 year payback typical. Major segment: automotive suppliers in EEC (Rayong/Chonburi), electronics in Ayutthaya, food processing across central plains. JUSTSOLAR 600W TOPCon dominant for 500kWp-5MW industrial projects.
What payment terms for Thai buyers?▼
Payment terms are confirmed in the formal PI. For new Thai buyers and most first orders, JUSTSOLAR uses 100% T/T before shipment. Any exception requires written approval from Frank and will be stated in the PI. USD denominated always (THB not international).
Who are your Thai customers?▼
