Senegal buyers need Dakar routing, French documentation, and ASER/mini-grid evidence before approving supplier shortlists. We prepare the buying file an EPC, distributor, or project owner needs before internal approval: landed-cost estimate, technical documents, compliance path, lead time, and container loading.

Senegal Solar Import FAQ

What certifications are needed for solar panels in Senegal?

IEC 61215 + IEC 61730 required (we provide). CRSE (Commission de Régulation du Secteur de l'Electricité) approval for grid-connected systems. SENELEC (Société nationale d'électricité) technical specifications compliance. For PRODESEN mini-grid tenders: World Bank / AfDB procurement standards (typically full IEC + Factory Acceptance Test). JUSTSOLAR provides full cert bundle.

What's the import cost structure for Senegal?

Senegal is part of UEMOA / WAEMU common external tariff. Solar modules: 5% customs duty, 18% VAT. Community Solidarity Levy (PCS): 0.8%. Statistical Redevance: 1%. Total: ~25% on CIF. For PRODESEN projects with donor funding (WB/AfDB), duty exemptions often apply. CRSE-registered mini-grid operators may access preferential treatment.

Can JUSTSOLAR supply PRODESEN mini-grid projects?

Yes — we supply EPCs bidding into PRODESEN + ANER (Agence Nationale pour les Energies Renouvelables) mini-grid packages. For typical 20-100 kWp community sites across Sahel Senegal (Matam, Tambacounda, Kaolack regions), our 600W TOPCon matches bid requirements. Note: bid documents usually in French — we provide French-language technical datasheets + certifications on request.

How long is shipping from Shanghai to Dakar?

Shanghai → Dakar: 35-40 days via Cape of Good Hope route, or 32-38 days via Suez + Mediterranean. Port clearance at Dakar: typically 5-10 days for compliant documentation. Add 5-7 days factory production if no stock. Total order-to-site: 7-9 weeks typical.

Is Senegal a gateway for francophone West Africa?

Yes. Dakar serves Mali (via road/rail corridor), Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau. For onward inland: cross-border logistics add $500-1500/container depending on destination. Many distributors use Senegal as hub for serving Mali gold mining rooftop + Guinea mini-grid projects. Contact us about multi-country staging strategies.

What payment terms for Senegalese buyers?

Payment terms are confirmed in the formal PI. For new Senegalese buyers and most first orders, JUSTSOLAR uses 100% T/T before shipment. Any exception requires written approval from Frank and will be stated in the PI. USD or EUR denominated (CFA franc pegged to EUR but not settled internationally).

Who are your Senegalese customers?

We supply PRODESEN + ANER mini-grid developers in Matam/Tambacounda/Kaolack. C&I EPCs in Dakar + industrial zones. Distributors serving Mali/Mauritania/Guinea onward markets. French/English support via Frank — see also our French pricing page designed for West African francophone buyers.
