What is the Nigeria solar procurement context?
SON product conformity, NERC project authorization, REA or NEP procurement, NEMSA installation inspection and Customs import treatment are separate decisions. None should be converted into a blanket claim that a supplier, module or project is approved.
A useful request identifies the exact buyer, product, application, importer, project route and destination. Current regulator, tender and trade documents then control the review; old programme figures, generic certificates and port assumptions do not.

Nigeria product, project, inspection and import review
Separate exact-product evidence, imported-product conformity, project authorization, programme procurement, installation inspection, importer status and commercial supply.
- Identify the buyer, state, end use, project or resale route, importer and whether the request is off-grid, isolated mini-grid, interconnected mini-grid, C&I, public institution or another application.
- Confirm whether the exact imported product is within the current SON-regulated scope and, if applicable, match the Product Certificate, SONCAP Certificate, importer and shipment process.
- Do not substitute MANCAP for imported-product review: SON describes MANCAP as the route for locally manufactured products and SONCAP as the route for regulated imported products.
- Match module and system evidence to the exact model, certificate holder, legal manufacturer, production site, standard and edition, report scope and buyer or tender requirement.
- For a mini-grid, use the current NERC regulations and schedules to determine the project category, responsible developer, permit or other route, distribution-company interface and agreements.
- For an REA or NEP opportunity, use the live funding-window, tender, eligibility, procurement, milestone and verification documents; a supplier page cannot qualify a developer or award a project.
- Confirm NEMSA inspection, testing, certification and contractor requirements for the actual installation, alongside any state regulator, distribution company, owner or lender requirements.
- Confirm tariff classification, origin, current duties and taxes, Form M, PAAR, declarations, SON or other agency documents and customs-professional responsibility for the actual import.
Application, site and logistics specification review
Nigeria requests differ by state, network, project route, site exposure, importer and destination. Define the request before comparing products or delivery options.

Nigeria solar procurement questions
Does every imported solar module have one generic SONCAP approval?
No. First confirm whether the exact product and shipment are within the current SON-regulated scope. If SONCAP applies, match the product, certificate route, importer details, accredited-firm process and shipment documentation. MANCAP is SON's scheme for products manufactured in Nigeria, so it should not be used as a generic claim for an imported module.
Does an IEC certificate prove acceptance in Nigeria?
No. An IEC reference is one evidence input. The buyer must match the exact offered model, certificate holder, legal manufacturer, production site, edition and report scope to SON, importer, tender, lender, owner and project requirements. A related model or brochure cannot prove acceptance.
Does a module specification make a project REA or NERC eligible?
No. NERC's current mini-grid route concerns the developer, project category, authorization, agreements and operating obligations. REA or NEP funding windows use their own live eligibility, procurement and verification documents. Product supply, regulatory authorization and tender eligibility must be reviewed separately.
Who checks a Nigerian solar electrical installation?
NEMSA publishes the federal mandate and service routes for technical standards, electrical-installation inspection, testing, certification and contractor competence. The developer should confirm the exact NEMSA, state regulator, distribution company and other project responsibilities that apply at the site.
What does JUSTSOLAR need before a formal Nigeria offer?
